Silver King is looking for a Senior Refrigeration Engineer to join our team !

The Senior Refrigeration Engineer is responsible for the development and commercialization of the Silver King refrigeration products including, but not limited to

  • Conduct market research, benchmarking analysis and competitive threat analysis
  • Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements
  • Provide strategic leadership for the Silver King product offering by developing and executing product development roadmaps and innovation initiatives which create demand, achieve the financial and strategic objectives of the business.
  • Manage the intellectual property portfolio for refrigeration to build and protect our competitive moat
  • Manage the product development and capital investment budgets to ensure that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.
  • Successfully launch new products and product lines
  • Partner with sales, marketing, procurement and manufacturing to ensure revenue and profit goals are met.
  • Hire and develop great engineering talent and build high performance teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap and develop an annual operating plan for the product line to meet or exceed financial targets;
  • Effectively manage the project portfolio and find new efficient ways to improve speed to market and reduce engineering investment.
  • Manage the engineering team to effectively execute product development and product maintenance activities
  • Work closely with key customers to understand product needs to develop new products to increase their operating efficiency and flexibility while exceeding customer total-cost-of-ownership targets.
  • Conduct market and competitive assessments to evaluate market trends, new development areas and innovation opportunities by product and segment;
  • Be a subject matter expert with respect to our products, technology, regulatory requirements and the competition.
  • Track and measure results to plan, and analyze new opportunities to continually learn and prioritize future growth investments;
  • Manage Quality System processes and ensure compliance with NPD, ECN, regulatory and other core engineering processes required by ISO and those engineering processes required by our customers.
  • Work with sales, marketing, manufacturing and executive leadership to develop products that are competitive and meet profit and revenue targets and goals;
  • Manage all product validation and testing for reliability, regulatory and customer requirements
  • Manage all Beta and customer test locations carefully tracking results and communicating ongoing test results, and actionable items to all relevant departments;
  • Manage engineering department resources and expenses to achieve annual budget and strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Develop annual budgets for engineering and support quarterly reviews and monthly forecasts with the President

 Qualifications and Competencies (Education & Experience):

Minimum degree and required experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required with appropriate expertise in thermodynamics, materials and mechanical engineering to support development of refrigeration products, MBA preferred;
  • 7-10 years professional experience as an engineer in the foodservice, HVAC or similar industry;
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching successful products;
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results by influencing cross-functional teams without formal authority;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Solid project management skills in contributing to the commercialization and go-to market efforts for new products;
  • Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking, planning and product development;
  • Solid financial, market planning, and analysis skills;
  • A desire to create practical/innovative solutions using intellectual inquisitiveness;
  • A high level of energy and passion;
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time, occasional international travel;
  • Other duties as assigned.
